Hi Seema Malik,
Thank you for your beautiful article on Jilbab. We Googled and broused Jilbab Websites; girls look pretty, sexy and glamourous in Jilbabs. Question is that is this kind of Jilbab that makes a Muslim women look pretty, sexy and glamourous, acceptable in Islam? Look forward to hearing from you.
Salaam.

Hi Lana Milka, Fozia and Jon Hellevik,
Thank you for your reviews. A few ladies sought my advice on the length, the thickness and the material of the Jilbab that would be permissible in Islam. They think I am a Mullah Bibi. Technically I am not expert on dresses; I think Amana Sharif would be the right person to give her opinion on the matter. However, Qur’an did not specify the length, the thickness and the material of the Jilbab; therefore it is a commonsense that we choose these physical attributes of Jilbab ourselves to please our personal taste and to suit the time and the location we happen to live in. Please Google “Jilbab” for more details.
I am not saying that Muslim women Must Must & Must wear Jilbab neither does the Qur’an insists upon this. However, those orthodox Muslim women who would wish to exhibit their Muslim identity well above the rest they have the choice in Islam to wear it if they would like to wear it. A modern Muslim woman can choose from a selection of dresses available these days that would cover her all around very well; therefore, wearing of Jilbab is no longer necessary, instead it is an extra body burden especially in hot countries.
Salaam.

Hi Seema Malik,
I found your article on the history of Jilbab very enlightening. How interesting that Qur’an did mention Jilbab (gown) to cover the body but it did not mention any garment to cover the hair and the face. I agree with you that Qur’an has a solution for the Muslim women in keeping their Muslim identity distinct in a non-Muslim society. Muslim women should not have problem in accepting Jilbab as their Muslim identity and I don’t think that the western countries would have problem in accepting Jilbab in their society.
Salaam.

Hi Seema malik,
I definetly like your idea of a Muslim woman to wear Jilbab in order to distinct her identity in a Non-Muslim society; after all Qur'an is for all ages and here comes the Qur'anic solution to the problem of the 21st century.
Salaam.
